ANC must be given the mandate to run Johannesburg: Morero

The African National Congress’s (ANC) Johannesburg Mayoral Nominee, Dada Morero, says his party must be given the mandate by the electorate to govern the City of Johannesburg.
The city is currently governed by a coalition known as the Government of Local Unity.
Morero spoke to SABC News on the sidelines of the party’s manifesto launch underway in Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg.
Other mayoral nominees for the city are ANC Veteran Frank Chikane and regional chairperson of the party in Johannesburg, Loyiso Masuku.
Morero explains that the work they have put in place since he’s been an Executive Mayor should be able to speak for itself.
“The work we are doing in the inner city, the work we are doing on by-law enforcement, the work that we are doing in terms of stabilising the financial position of the city, so that’s creating good rights and achievements that we have done in the last few months since I’ve been in this position, and I believe that the reason that we also came here to Riverside was also to demonstrate that we’re able to include the private sector to deliver just over 10 000 housing opportunities in Riverside.”
