Committee to address water crisis in Bronkhorstspruit: Ramaphosa

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says the National Water Crisis Committee will address the water crisis in Bronkhorstspruit, in the City of Tshwane.
Ramaphosa was speaking during an ANC door-to-door campaign in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni.
The City of Tshwane has declared tap water from the Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Works unfit for human consumption following a severe gastrointestinal illness outbreak.
Ramaphosa says he hopes the committee will find a solution to the crisis.
“We are very sorry that it has resulted in the challenge of gastrointestinal illness that has affected a number of people. That’s why the Minister of Health has become involved. But we will be dealing with that problem because we cannot afford a situation where our people are drawn to illness because of our inability to treat water properly.”
