Lesedi FM hosts local elections debate in Matjhabeng

The SABC’s Lesedi FM Current Affairs programme is hosting its first local government elections debate on Friday at Phahamisanang Primary School in Matjhabeng, Free State.

The debate brings together representatives of political parties and independent candidates contesting the local government elections in Matjhabeng.

The discussion will put the spotlight on the challenges facing residents, including the municipality’s financial crisis and debt, water and electricity challenges, sewage problems, poor infrastructure and service delivery, as well as governance and accountability.

The candidates will be challenged to outline their plans to address these issues and improve the lives of residents.
