IFP vows to deport undocumented foreign nationals from eThekwini

Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) vows to embark on a campaign to ensure the deportation of all undocumented foreign nationals in eThekwini should it win control of the municipality in November.
Immigration is part of the IFP’s priorities in its election manifesto for eThekwini unveiled in Durban on Sunday.
“Whilst immigration is not a municipal competence, we will nonetheless prioritise, through intergovernmental relations, a deportation process of all illegal foreign immigrants to ensure that eThekwini works for Durbanites and for South Africans and for us to push back on crime, human trafficking and drugs,” says IFP mayoral candidate in eThekwini Mkhuleko Hlengwa.
The party’s President Velenkosini Hlabisa calls for harsher penalties and a united front in the fight against women abuse and femicide.
Hlabisa urged party members to carry the message of protecting women during their election campaigns.
“Once you are arrested in a case of rape, a person must not be given bail until the case comes to an end. When found guilty, the person must be given a life sentence without parole because rapists and murderers are monsters in our society who must be removed once and for all.”
