Councillors’ Corner #11 | Al Jama-ah Cllr briefs on Lenasia Ward 9

Political parties are busy signing the Electoral Commission’s (IEC) Electoral Code of Conduct pledge countrywide ahead of the Local Government Elections in 26 days’ time.

In this week’s edition of Councillors’ Corner, Digital News Producer Lebo Tshangela speaks to Al Jama-ah’s Ward 9 Councillor in Gauteng’s City of Johannesburg, Jakes Karolia.

Karolia says his ward is facing challenges with deteriorating infrastructure and potholes.

He says, “Mostly, it is the infrastructure that we do have a problem with; a lot of informal settlements that come up within the area, which is obviously a hygiene problem for the residents living within the informal settlement; we have road issues, we have major electricity issues.”
