Maimane emphasises the importance of the 2026 LGEs

Build One South Africa  (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane says these local government elections have never been more important. Maimane was speaking at the Dobsonville voting station in Soweto, south of Johannesburg after he cast his vote.

I’ve just cast my vote in ward 48, Dobsonville, Soweto.

I voted for Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster for Joburg mayor, and for BOSA on my other ballot.

He urged South Africans to use the opportunity of voting today (Wednesday) to change their livelihoods.

“The IEC has done an incredible job by being able to set up, I thought the system was well organised. I think it gives South Africans the opportunity to express their vote. My vote is not a secret, I voted for Build One South Africa for Nobuntu Hlazo for Johannesburg. So, I wanna urge South Africans that this is the one opportunity that we can really raise our concerns about service delivery, about corruption, about unemployment to make sure that people can – these elections have never been more important.”
