The uMkhonto weSizwe Part (MKP ) in Jozini, in northern KwaZulu-Natal, says its happy with its performance in the local government elections after winning more than 10 wards in the municipality.
MKP spokesperson Sipho Gumede says the party’s success is the result of extensive work carried out during the election campaign.
He says elected councillors will prioritise development in their areas.
National Spokesperson Sifiso Mahlangu says the MK Party performed very well in its first Local Government Elections, securing municipalities and wards. He says the focus now shifts to delivering on the People’s Mandate and fulfilling the promises made to South Africans. https://t.co/D64pga9AdM

“The message from the MKP, we are all carrying the mandate to deliver to the community and to produce the clean governance.”
“We will do that by following the documents which are in the legislature. I think the problem starts when the councilors failing to follow the mandate of their organisation and our mandate is very clear is to give the service to the community,” says Gumede.
