The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Mpumalanga have expressed concerns about the capturing of votes by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in the province.

EFF Deputy President and City of Mbombela Mayoral candidate Godrich Gardee says the party has noted irregularities on the results slips and what is captured on the system.

“Whatever is captured in their system is not what party agents have actually signed out at. I mean, it is the tip of an iceberg that in Ward 9, ANC got 483, but certified, audited, validated and captured in the system is 648 for the ANC; what is that? No, we are going to raise with them now because if we did not audit and we pick it up now, it means there is a lot that has happened and they must explain themselves what happened.”
