Twenty-one political parties contesting the 2026 Local Government Elections (LGE) in the Free State are expected to sign the Electoral Code of Conduct at Mangaung City Hall in Bloemfontein on Friday.

The ceremony aims to reaffirm the political parties’ commitment to peaceful campaigning, mutual tolerance, and ensuring that voters can participate in a free and fair democratic process without intimidation.

Electoral Commission (IEC) Chairperson Mosotho Moepya will deliver the keynote address, while political leaders will pledge to uphold the principles of the Electoral Code of Conduct ahead of the elections.
