PAC aims to secure majority rule in Mnquma Local Municipality

Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) President Mzwanele Nyhontso says the party is moving to obtain an outright majority in the Mnquma Local Municipality when voters head to the polls in the local government elections.
Nyhontso was speaking during the announcement of Nkosi Phathuxolo Tyali as the mayoral candidate for the PAC in the Mnquma Municipality in the Eastern Cape.

Nkosi Tyali is a local traditional leader in ward 26.
Nyhontso also promised residents that they would prioritise rural development.
“We want to be in charge of this municipality. That is our first prize. Our second prize is that we want to make sure that there is no outright winner, so that we start doing local government unity. We are going to jump from two seats to more than 32 seats, and we are ready for that. As you can see, the numbers can tell. The ground is fertile, people want PAC. ”
Mayoral candidate, Tyali, says skills development must be at the centre to build people that will then sustain themselves in rural areas.
“This area of Mnquma is more rural it is 85% or 90% rural. Now ,there is no connection between urban and rural areas. You can see that the development that is here is the roads, of which people that stay in these areas need more, more than roads. They need jobs to sustain themselves.”
Those in attendance say they hope that the PAC can bring change in their communities.
“We fetch water from streams, but taps were installed. We need fertilisers for our farms, we need trucks and we need medicine for our animals. We are farmers here in Centane and we have hope that PAC will support us,” says one of the supporters.
