Unemployment is stealing young people’s future: ACDP

African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) Mayoral Candidate for the City of Johannesburg, Bishop Dulton Adams, says youth unemployment is a daily crisis stealing the future of young people across the city and the country.
Adams addressed young people at Kagiso Town Hall in the West Rand during the SABC 360 Election debate on Sunday.
He says, “I want to begin with a thought from the book of Proverbs that says, ‘Hope deferred makes the heart sick.’ Think about what it means for a young person in this community: you finish school, you send out the CV’s, you wait by the phone, you hoped then, you waited again and waiting became months, then years.”
Adams adds, “Our young people don’t have money to go to Sandton or Maponya Mall; right here in Kagiso, they must have opportunities, and that’s what we will bring to the table.”
