About the party
The Azania Peaceful Revolution (AZANIA) party was formed out of COVID-19 lockdown activism opposing restrictions and socio-economic inequalities. The party, led by Ricardo Riad Maarman did not participate or win any seats in the 2021 municipal elections. Ahead of the 2024 general election, Maarman and the party endorsed the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) but itself did not secure any National Assembly or provincial legislature seats.
