ARA

About the party

The Africa Restoration Alliance (ARA) party was founded on December 17, 2020, by Jerome Swartz, a former national executive committee chairperson of the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP). Swartz cited bribery and corruption in his former party as the reason for leaving, and says his party is focused on the restoration of dignity, quality of life, and economic wealth for all citizens. While it did not win major ground, the ARA managed to win 2 seats in the Cape Town City Council during the 2021 local government elections.
