About the party
The Service Delivery Party (SDP) was officially launched on January 10, 2026, by Delmas-based businessman and entrepreneur Thabo Motau who stepped away from the corporate sector to start the political movement. The party was born out of deep community frustration in Mpumalanga over collapsing infrastructure, water shortages, power outages, and a political system that left ordinary residents feeling sidelined. The SDP officially launched in Delmas within the Victor Khanye Local Municipality to contest local government elections.
