About the party

The Truth and Solidarity Movement (TRUTH) evolved out of earlier political efforts, including a 2016 mayoral run in Cape Town and a 2019 iteration aqs the South African National Democratic Movement, before transitioning as the Truth and Solidarity Movement in 2022. The party was founded by Mehmet Vefa Dag, an economist, chartered accountant, and businessman who migrated to South Africa from Türkiye in 2001. The core principles around TRUTH are economic transformation, fighting government corruption, improving basic service delivery, and championing individual human rights and dignity
