About the party
The Merafong Civic Association (MECA) was officially registered on 25 July 2011, with a focus to address community level-governance, service delivery and local socio-economic issues within the Merafong area. MECA has maintained its single-seat presence in local government from 2011 and 2016 local elections but did not secure significant council representation in the 2021 local government elections.
