About the party
The Barberton Community Party (BTCP) officially entered the political race and launched its manifesto in Barberton, Mpumalanga on September 11 2026. The organisation was established to contest local government elections across the City of Mbombela, following community dissatisfaction with deteriorating service delivery since the former Umjindi Local Municipality was merged into Mbombela in 2016.
