With 12% of voting districts declared in Gauteng, the Democratic Alliance (DA) is leading in all metros and municipalities except in the Tshwane Metro where Action SA is currently ahead.

The DA’s strong performance places it in a favourable position across much of the province, although the picture remains fluid with the majority of voting districts still to be declared.

In the City of Johannesburg, the DA is leading with 40% of the votes, followed by the African National Congress (ANC) with 17% of the votes and Action SA with 15% of the votes.

In Ekurhuleni, the DA is also leading the race there with 42% of the votes, the ANC with 16% of the votes and Action SA with 19% of the votes.

The picture however changes slightly in the city of Tshwane as the ANC, with 28% of support, is hot on the heels of the Action SA that has 29% of the votes.

The DA currently in third position with 19% of the votes in Tshwane.
