City of Cape Town on course to be governed by DA

With half of the voting districts completed in the City of Cape Town, the metro appears on course to remain the country’s only major municipality governed by a single party.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) is currently leading with 61% of the vote, although projections suggest its support could settle at around 58% once all ballots have been counted.
The African National Congress (ANC) is currently standing on just under 9.7% in the metro with the Patriotic Alliance (PA) so far showing just under 4%.
Across the Western Cape, where 74% of voting districts have been counted, the DA is leading with 54% of the vote.
