Mkhwanazi urges officers to refrain from taking political sides
KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, has urged police officers deployed for the 2026 Local Government Elections (LGE)to refrain from taking political sides.
Mkhwanazi says law enforcement must serve all political parties and members of the public equally.
He was addressing an official send-off of police personnel deployed to various districts across KwaZulu-Natal ahead of the elections on Wednesday.
