About the party
The African Covenant (ACO) party was established on March 5, 2018, by Dr. Convy Baloyi, a church leader and born-again Christian who founded the movement out of a belief that he had received a divine, "righteous mandate for politics." In the 2021 local polls, the ACO did not secure an outright majority in any municipality, nor did it win any council seats nationally. Tracking under 0.02% across almost all regional ward and proportional representation (PR) metrics, the party failed to meet the required quota to gain a single representative seat in any major metropolitan or local municipal council.
