The Peoples Freedom Party (PFP) was founded in 2019 by President Tariq Mohamed to champion Islamic democracy and governance based on Islamic principles. The party represents the religious and spiritual interests of South Africa's Muslim community, specifically targeting representation in the KwaZulu-Natal legislature. However, the PFP has a minimal electoral track record, securing zero seats nationally in the 2021 municipal elections.
