About the party
The Northern Cape Communities Movement (NCCM) emerged after the 2021 local government elections when independent community movements won seats in nine of the province's 26 municipalities. Officially established as a consolidated political vehicle in 2023 to contest the 2024 provincial and national elections, the NCCM is led by Chairperson Ronald February and Provincial Secretary Shepherd Mines. Its purpose is to unite autonomous local forums under a single umbrella, aggregating their votes to bypass traditional, centralized political parties.
