United Democratic Movement (UDM) leader Bantu Holomisa has declared an end to the era of single-party dominance. He was speaking to SABC News in the Eastern Cape.

Holomisa says coalitions are likely to shape the local government elections.

He further cautioned that single-party dominance results in corruption.

“Yes, we are not naïve that the possibilities that what you saw in 2024 will likely be shown in a number of municipalities, wherein the people of South Africa have taken a decision to say never again shall we put all our eggs in one basket because one-party dominance results in corruption. We have seen that, so we do not want South Africa to continue to experience this.”

Meanwhile, voting in the Eastern Cape has been progressing well throughout the day.
