Hill-Lewis warns voters against coalition government in Cape Town

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader and City of Cape Town Mayoral candidate Geordin Hill-Lewis has urged party supporters to vote the party back to the City of Cape Town to prevent a coalition government.

Hill-Lewis was campaigning at Bloubergstrand in the West Coast.

He says coalitions are chaotic and mayoral changes happen on a regular basis.

He also flighted the last campaign slogan poster for the City.

“You know wherever they have had the chance in South Africa, wherever they have forced the cities to be run in coalitions, we see the same thing happening, chaos. Mayors in and out changing every few months, service delivery going down and the people being forgotten. And we see right now happening in Tshwane where for three weeks, they have lied to the residents of the City about the fact that the water was not safe to drink. They didn’t tell anyone and there is already more 800 people who have become seriously ill as a result of that lie. But that is just a symptom of a coalition.”
