The Abantu Batho Congress (ABC) was established by businessman Philani “PG” Mavundla on January 8, 2020. The party describes itself as an Afrocentric, Pan-Africanist, and womanist revolutionary movement that advocates for returning land and power to indigenous leaders as the true custodians of the people. In the 2021 municipal elections, the ABC won 23 seats across 13 municipalities in KwaZulu-Natal, and its leader, Philani Mavundla, served as the Deputy Mayor of eThekwini from 2021 to 2022.
