About the party
The African Democratic Change (ADeC) party was founded on 1 December 2017 by former ANC Member of Parliament (MP) Makhosi Khoza, following her high-profile departure from the governing party due to her anti-corruption stance. The party positions itself around the "philosophy of Ubuntu" and seeks to give a voice to citizens outside the political mainstream. Just four months after launching ADeC, Khoza stepped down as party leader, she was succeeded by apartheid-era unionist Moses Mayekiso. The party later came under the leadership of Visvin Reddy.
