President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged registered voters to participate in next week’s local government elections.

Speaking in Durban, on Wednesday, he called on South Africans to set aside their political differences and work together to ensure that local governments function effectively and serve their communities.

“Let us exercise our democratic right peacefully and responsibly, with a clear understanding of what is at stake. Whatever our political differences, we should all be united in wanting municipalities that work, communities that are safe, and an economy that creates opportunities and jobs.”
