About the party
The African Content Movement (ACM) was launched on December 13, 2018, by former SABC Chief Operations Officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng. The party’s name is inspired by Motsoeneng’s erstwhile policy of promoting local content at the public broadcaster, and its special focus is on protecting creative artists. The ACM has two seats in Gauteng municipalities after councillors from the Randfontein People’s Party joined ACM. The November 4 poll will be the ACM's maiden municipal election.
